BITCHES AND HOES! (AKA: The Grannies of Barnes and Noble)
So, my brother got me The Girl Who Played With Fire in hardcover for Christmas, and if you know me then you know that I’m very particular about the books I own. I already had The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in paperback and it would drive me crazy if the collection wasn’t all the same, so I went to Barnes and Noble the other day to try and exchange it for the paperback edition, but they only had the Mass Market Paperback edition, which isn’t the one I wanted. So I left and ended up just buying the one I wanted when I found it at Walmart. So today I went back to Barnes and Noble to just exchange the book and get store credit in the form of a gift card. I get up to the register and find myself dealing with a tacky old bitch who probably shouldn’t be operating a register. So I was very polite and I told her that I got the book for Christmas and that I just wanted to exchange it for store credit because I didn’t have the receipt… and immediately she started treating me as if because I was young I didn’t know anything and told me that B&N doesn’t do exchanges or returns without receipts because the book could be from Target for all she knew… and, of course, she was wrong about that. So I told her how I had been there the other day and that they were going to allow me to exchange it, but that they didn’t have the book I wanted, so I just held onto it… and she was NOT happy about this. So she gets all flustered and was like “We’ll see about that.” and turns to her manager who had just walked up and was like “Are we accepting returns without receipts now?” and the manager responded “Yes, for store credit.” and the old bitch was like “Well how do we know it’s ours?” and the manager said “Is it our UPC on it?” so they flipped open the book and noticed that a fucking security sticker was inside and the manager said “Oh, I don’t mark my books like that. Sorry, this isn’t ours.” and the old fuck turned and gave me a DIRTY ASS look and handed the book back to me. So I just said “Okay, sorry” and started to leave. The second I started to walk away the old bitch started complaining saying that I had lied to her about coming in the other day and being told I could exchange the book. So this REALLY pissed me off. I put my shit in the car and came back into the store, found the manager, and gave her a nice complaint about how I didn’t appreciate the attitude or the dirty looks that her employee had been giving me when I was just trying to exchange a book that I didn’t need. Bitches betta recognize that I don’t put up with that kind of bullshit. Old people like this piss me the fuck off… go fall down and break your hip or something.
