“You can learn a lot more from listening than you can from talking. Find someone with whom you don’t agree in the slightest and ask them to explain themselves at length. Then take a seat, shut your mouth, and don’t argue back. Its physically impossible to listen with your mouth open.”—John Moe
“I used to feel so alone in the city. All those gazillions of people and then me, on the outside. Because how do you meet a new person? I was very stumped by this for many years. And then I realized, you just say, “Hi.” They may ignore you. Or you may marry them. And that possibility is worth that one word.”—Augusten Burroughs
“The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you’re not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don’t take it personally when they say “no” — they may not be smart enough to say “yes.”—Keith Olbermann
And I could only dream of you and sleep, But I never see sunlight again, I can try to be with you , but somehow I’ll end up just losing a friend, I can only reach for you Relate to you, I’m losing my friend… Where did s[he] go? Where?
The whole “Everyone hates us, but we don’t care anymore” thing is getting kind of stale. I just feel like there must be something else there… High School is so much more than this kind of life on repeat, and there are a couple characters they have yet to really delve…
Jane Lynch is fucking amazing! She definitely makes that show. Lol. I laughed SO hard when she walked into the bathroom and yelled “SHUT UP!”
… but everything about you screams INSECURE! You get defensive over everything and constantly feel the need to put others down.
But than I just think about that the fact that not only was I cast as the role I wanted, but I also had a character rewritten from being a female to a male just because the directors/writers liked me so much.
So you can continue to attempt to put down both of the shows I’m in, but I know it’s just a cover up for how upset you are that you got NOTHING you wanted.
“Seneca proposed the idea that Roman men should always be MANLY-MEN!
So if someone were to say to you: ‘You just won the lottery!’
Your response should be: ‘(calm/monotone voice) Ah. Yes. Very good.’
And if someone had said to you: ‘Oh no! You’re dog was just ran over.’
Your response should be ‘(calm/monotone voice) Ah. Yes. That is very sad.’
…Basically he thought we should be more like Spock.”—Dr. Baldyga (The greatest teacher ever!!!)
